I wish to clarify exactly how cookies and similar technologies work when you visit Winny Casino. This document explains what small data files I store on your device, the purposes behind them, and how you can adjust them. I have developed this policy to meet the requirements of the Dutch Telecommunications Act and the General Data Protection Regulation, because your privacy is important to me as much as an enjoyable gaming experience does.
What Cookies and Comparable Technologies Signify for You
Cookies are tiny text files that a web server delivers to your browser and stores on your computer, phone or tablet. They enable me recall your preferences, recognise you when you return, and comprehend how you navigate the platform. In addition to cookies, I use analogous technologies like pixel tags and local storage objects. These are often called trackers, and they fulfill similar functions in collecting anonymised or pseudonymous data during your visit.
Direct and External Cookies
First-party cookies come directly from the Winny Casino domain. I place them to deliver core website functionality, such as preserving your session active while you browse games. Third-party cookies originate from external services I trust, including analytics providers and our affiliate network. Grasping this distinction is crucial because each type gives you different control options through your browser or our consent tool.
Session and Long-term Cookies
Session cookies are transient https://winny.co.nl/legal-and-affiliates/. They are present only while your browser is open and are removed when you close it. I rely on these for a smooth login flow and game loading. Persistent cookies persist on your device for a fixed period or until you delete them. They let me remember your language choice or present the cookie consent banner only once, so your experience stays consistent across multiple visits.
Your Approval and the Choices You Hold
Your capacity to choose what takes place on your device is essential to my approach. When you initially land on Winny Casino, a consent banner appears. I will not activate non-essential cookies until you offer a clear positive action, as required by Dutch law. You can adjust your preferences at any time by visiting the cookie settings panel found in the footer of every page.
How to Modify Preferences Later
Reviewing your decision is straightforward. Access the cookie settings, check each category, and change your consent on or off. Changes apply immediately for future tracking. Bear in mind that withdrawing consent does not remove cookies already stored. You can delete those through your browser’s history function. I suggest updating your preference together with a manual cookie clear for the most thorough result.
Handling Cookies Through Browser Settings
Every modern browser gives you granular control over cookies. You can block all third-party cookies, delete existing ones upon exit, or set the browser to ask before accepting any cookie. Below is a practical sequence you can use in most browsers:
- Access the privacy or security section of your browser’s settings.
- Identify the cookies and site data panel.
- Pick your preferred level: block all, block third-party, or clear data on closure.
- Include winny.co.nl to any exception list if you want to keep necessary cookies enabled.
- Reload the browser to finalize the new rules.
Please be mindful that blocking strictly necessary cookies will disrupt core features like logging into your account or remaining on a game table. I urge you to keep them active for a secure and uninterrupted experience.
External Services and Independent Cookies
I integrate several third-party tools for payment systems, live chat support, and analytics. Each external provider may set its own cookies in line with its privacy policy. While I carefully select partners that respect Dutch data protection standards, I cannot control how these third parties process information once it leaves our immediate environment. I advise you to review their policies as part of your overall privacy check.
The most common third-party cookies come from our live dealer studios, which require a stable connection and feature a session identifier. Our analytics partner also places a cookie to generate reports about popular game categories. None of these partners receive your real name or financial details through cookies. All data passed via trackers is anonymized or pseudonymised, limiting the possibility of direct identification.
Types of Cookies I Implement on Winny Casino
I group all cookies based on their purpose. Transparency helps you make informed choices, and the consent tool shows each category in a clear way. Here are the main groups used on our site. No single group is utilised to sell your personal data; rather, each supports the safe and tailored environment I work hard to maintain.
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: These are vital for basic navigation and security. They allow account login, payment processing, and responsible gambling tools. Without them, the website cannot function properly, so your consent is not required for this category.
- Performance Cookies: I use these to gather aggregated, anonymous statistics about page visits, loading times, and error messages. They highlight which parts of the site need improvement and never identify you individually.
- Functional Cookies: Functional trackers remember choices you make, such as your preferred display language, font size, or whether you have already hidden a notification. They boost convenience without profiling your behaviour elsewhere.
- Targeting and Affiliate Cookies: These are placed by us and trusted partners to evaluate the effectiveness of our campaigns and to assign referrals correctly under the affiliate programme. They may also control how often you see a promotion, but I never use them for intrusive cross-site behavioural advertising without consent.
Updates to This Cookie Policy
I assess this document frequently to reflect new features, legal changes, or updated supervisory guidance from the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Each time I make material amendments, I will notify you through a prominent banner on the website or by email if you are on our mailing list. The revision date at the top of the page shows when the latest version took effect.
I advise reviewing this policy every few months, especially if you frequently adjust your cookie preferences after browser updates. A quick scan can ensure that nothing has changed in a way that affects your comfort. My commitment is to maintain a cookie practice that is both compliant and respectful, so your gaming time stays in your hands.
The Way I Use Cookies for the Affiliate Programme
Affiliate relationships constitute an essential part of Winny Casino’s growth, and cookies serve a fair role in this ecosystem. When you follow a referral link from one of our authorized partners, a cookie drops that stores the affiliate ID. If you later register and deposit, the system can accurately assign the introduction to the right partner. This process keeps the programme transparent and rewards genuine marketing effort.
Attribution Window and Impartiality
The affiliate cookie has a defined lifespan that I set in good faith. If you visit directly or through a separate affiliate within the attribution window, the most recent referring partner typically obtains credit. I created this rule to minimise unreasonable claim conflicts. You can check the full terms on the legal and affiliates page to see clearly how commissions are calculated in compliance with Dutch advertising codes.
No Unwanted Profiling via Affiliate Cookies
I do not merge affiliate tracking data with your gaming behaviour to create detailed profiles for third-party resale. The cookie simply associates a referral source to a registration event. Once attribution is verified, the data performs purely administrative purposes, and the aggregated reports I share with partners never disclose personal identities or betting patterns.
FAQ
What precisely counts as essential cookies at Winny Casino?
Strictly necessary cookies enable core functions without which the website cannot operate securely. Among them are session identifiers that preserve your login state, load balancer cookies that balance traffic, and tokens that defend against cross-site request forgery attacks. I do not seek approval for these as the platform would fail to work if you prevented them.
Is it possible to play games without agreeing to any tracking cookies?
Yes, you can access most games with only strictly necessary cookies active. I built the site so that declining performance, functional and advertising cookies does not restrict the game library. A few handy options like remembered language choices will be inaccessible, and the cookie pop-up will show up more regularly, but the fundamental entertainment experience remains unaffected.
How does the affiliate cookie affect my bonuses?
Following an affiliate link and permitting the tracking cookie does not change the bonus conditions you get. The referral identifier simply records that a specific partner directed you to us. Your introductory bonus, betting conditions and payout rules are the same as those enforced if you arrived directly, and I never include concealed terms to affiliate-tracked sign-ups.
Do you disclose cookie information to advertisers beyond the affiliate network?
I do not transfer or swap cookie-generated profiles to third-party ad platforms for retargeting purposes. Any minimal distribution concerns summarized, non-identifiable figures with verified partners under tight data processing terms. My objective is to improve the site, not to feed third-party behavioural advertising ecosystems that chase you across the internet with unrelated promotions.
Where can I find the full affiliate terms referenced in the cookie policy?
The comprehensive affiliate program guidelines and commission frameworks are posted on the legal and partners page of Winny Casino. That paper includes eligibility criteria, banned advertising approaches, payment timelines and the referral mechanism that uses the cookies explained here. I suggest reviewing it alongside this policy for a full understanding of how the affiliate model operates.
